Thanks eric, Good posting. I would put 'tea parties' on the list.

Those were and are truly 'grassroots' events.

Although, with no real leadership or cohesion I wonder what good they will do? Will it end up splitting the conservative votes so the liberals remain in power? Will they find a unifying voice, a statesman, that will bring their power to focus? Will the focus be on a 3rd party or a booting of RINO's and bringing the Republican party back to Reaganism? Would Reaganism work again or would that simply be taking a step backwards only to return 1 step later to where we are now?

The next decade will tell.

I say, all we conservatives can do now is to talk to our neighbors and friends about conservatism and why they, the neighbors and friends, hold conservative values whether they know it or not.

Most people do not want babies chopped up. Most do not want the government taking huge chucks of our earnings. Most do not want our hospitals and doctors offices run like the DMV or Post Office. Most do not want our schools to be run as indoctrination centers for veganism, Wicca and environmentalism.

They simply need to be told of this and some will open their eyes and get ff the fence they are sitting on. We can double our numbers if each of us convinces one other person to seek conservative candidates.

Someone I knew personally, was killed during the Vietnam War.
I sometimes think about what if, what if he went across the border
to Canada, or found some less danerous way of fighting?

Every so often I hear something about the family he left behind,
and am sent pictures of his gravesight at Arlington.

I have to admit that tears come to my eyes when I think about him.

To rub salt into this still open wound, I just heard a one second blip
on national TV by the former architect of that war, who said, " we were so wrong".

Tell that to him or his family. That war was approved by most
Americans until things start going wrong. But, there is a way to protest
wars, not the way they did in Chicago.

A friend tell me that protests ARE legal, that these protestors
said, Hitler's laws should have been protested.

But they miss the point. This is the USA, not NAZI Germany.

There are no absolutes.

In Iran, protests still rage, against a regime which may start WW3.
A regime which just purchased enriched uranium yellow cake,
in violation of UN acts. They have also violated 3 UNSC resolutions.

But is anyone watching, surely our President aint.

He has said more about the fault in our homeland security in
one week, than anything before about Iran.

Yet, while had the bomb gone off, yes, there would have been
a tragedy, to compount 911, BUT, nothing compared to what Iran is
planning for all of us.

Yet, with 3 battleship groups patrolling the Persian Gulf, armed
to the teeth with nukes, Obama does nothing but give us his
smile and project an image of caring.

When my fellow posters and readers, a nuke goes off in a major
city (or 2 or 3 or 4), will he be smiling then?

I mean, why please tell me, is Iran spending billions to make plants
to manufacture electricity, when it is the 2nd or 3rd largest reserve
of oil and natural gas? Why not just enhance their own oil infrastructure?

Let's fact it, the USA is an easy target for a would be terrorist.
If not a plane, a sports stadium, or a school, or university,
or shopping mall ( as in Israel). All this fuss over one Nigerian who
got onto a plane, misses the salient fact. We have hundreds of thousands
of targets..the NYCity subway system.with it's thousands of miles
can be a target. Get my point.

We live in a dangerous world..but the main danger does NOT come
from Al Qaeda..an irritant, but a group of misfits which does not
have tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, or artillery. They cannot
plan movements of fleets against US, or submarines.

The USA is not in danger of disappearing over a Nigerian..with
2 ounces of explosives. It IS in danger if Iran gets dozens
of nuclear warheads, combined with its hundreds of Shihab Missiles
and other WMD.

Bush was right to invade Iraq. His purpose was NOT to destroy any WMD (thank God they didn't have or at use them on our troops). He went in
to take out Saddam, as Eric posted. That was his main reason..everything
else was secondly. The neo-cons were correct in their analysis.
He had every intention, coordinated with other nations and groups
to hurt US severely. Saddam killed millions of his own people, Iranians,
Kuwaitees, Saudis, and Israelis. That was reason enough to take him out.

I admit that I wanted other Arab countries to do the job. That never
really happened. No Arab country invaded Iraq.

Don't believe me, just consider the latest news about body searches.

Whether or not Sarah Palin would have made a decent President, I don't frankly know? She was not a good choice. Mitt Romney or Rudy Giuliani
would have been better, had they agreed.

But what has Joe Biden accomplished? He coordinates the trillion dollar
stimulus package, that's about all. All his major foreign policy decisions have been dismissed ( Iraq divided, no enhanced involvement in Afghanistan ).

Either he is very wrong, or his boss just doesn't get it. Mr. Presidend,
you are not understanding the US vibes

Sarah Palin had no foreign policy experience, but what does that
say about the President?

But Palin didn't have the votes..the Independent votes, which the Republicans need to win.

With New York, and my State (California) increasingly become
a blue state..the Republicans just don't have enough constituents
who understand a simple fact: when you spend, you need to tax.

And that leads me to the health plan (or Obamacare). To make this
feasible, everyone will have to get on board.( contribute ). Insurance
companies will have to provide unlimited insurance...premium plans
will be taxed at 40% additional. If someone refuses, they will be hit
with a penalty (enforced by you know which agency).

The blue dog Republicans and Republicans, bless them, have discounted
any thought of a govt run option. But, the govt will still pay for part of
it. That means taxing you and me.

No matter how you define it, this plan is socialization. And is not my America.

Given free or partially paid for health, people will visit their doctors
far more than necessary. They don't have to pay for it, we all do.

There are no easy answers. But the most obvious is for those
people who voted for the Democrats, to change parties in Nov.
Vote for the Republican candidates..especially in New York and California.

We must save our capitalistic way of life, with little government
intrusion, for our children and their
children, before it is too late. We are not heading in the right direction.

My 2009 moment to rank: a "rebirth" to political activisim from the "everyday man on the street" not seen since the 60's. Where it leads........ well we will see. I just hope it's not to more horid clothing like I had in the 70s. I do enjoy the political "water cooler discussions" I now have daily when we're done talking NFL action.

"10) Social Networking–The 1990s brought us the Internet. This decade really took it to the next level in 2007 with MySpace. In 2008 Facebook became very popular. By 2009, a ton of people were on Twitter."

Not to mention that in 2007 came along a soon to be prize winning blog called "The Tygrrr Express".

I dont even want to think about what the next 3 years will bring. If the last year is any reflection of whats in store for us were going need all the well wishs we can get.
These morons that defend the CIC by saying let em have his 4 years at it before you nail him to the wall are the epitome of idiocy for any number of reasons.
