Letterman asked franken about the reaction of the government and whether we should target Arabs for greater scrutiny after the attack. Franken replied, and I paraphrase, “If it was a bunch of Jewish comedians who hijacked those planes and flew them into those buildings, it wouldn’t bother me at all if I got hassled at the airports from then on.” I may be a liberal and progressive, but I’m not insane about it. Next time a Muslim makes crazy talk at the barracks, someone had better speak up!
