"I couldn’t imagine being petty enough to even care if Obama lied about matching funds. It’s just too stupid."

Dont have to imagine it. You defended his lying quite intensly.
Obviously you care otherwise why do you defend his actions so passionatly ?

"I’ve never seen, read or heard anything from or about her that would suggest she’s anything more than an empty skirt."

Why don’t you take all of say three seconds, I’m sure you can fit it into your busy schedule, and Google “Palins resume`” or “Palins achievements” or any related search you like? Try it. Then see if you want to ask me that ridiculous question again.

No one today is harping on Bush lied anymore, you know why ?
The case was made legally to go to war, with ot without the flawed intelligence that Bush was simply repeating from various sources.

Any of the sites you suggest we google are far left opinionated blogs ar publications.
If he lied he would be brought up on charges, but he hasnt, you know why ?
Because everyone in congress, the same ones that would bring charges against him , are all GUILTY OF THE SAME MISTAKES !!!!

Once again, you have nothing but "I say so" because there is no proof that the man lied.

There are transcripts of Obama saying he would not do something, which he turned around and did.

"The GOP may as well start recruiting to it’s ranks from Jerry Springer guests and Girls Gone Wild."
Unfortunatly most of his audience reminds me of loony leftisits who run the streets in pink jammies .
Springer himself is a moonbat.
Nice try but that actually fell on you.

Its you guys who like idiots for railing on Palin for petty things and yet fail to hold your president elects feet to the fire for the countless stupid things that hes said and comes out of his yap.

Nancys seance.

If Palin said that you moonbats would be aaaaaall lit up with venom.
In a heartbeat.

Parrot and Micky, I couldn't imagine being petty enough to even care if Obama lied about matching funds. It's just too stupid.

Parrot, as of the war in Iraq and Bush's lies in particular (I won't even bother to get into the piles of steaming lies the rest of the administartion incesscantly conveyed)...

Are you serious?

Why don't you take all of say three seconds, I'm sure you can fit it into your busy schedule, and Google "bush lies iraq" or "proof bush lied iraq" or any related search you like? Try it. Then see if you want to ask me that ridiculous question again.

Micky, I don't know if this stuff about Palin is true or not, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me. I've never seen, read or heard anything from or about her that would suggest she's anything more than an empty skirt. If that's the face of the new GOP (and judging from the realignment of the leadership, I wouldn't be surprised by that either), you guys are going to make yourselves look awefully dumb. Poor ol' Bill Buckley must be rolling in his grave. The GOP may as well start recruiting to it's ranks from Jerry Springer guests and Girls Gone Wild.

As far as Palin goes.
All this talk of attacks coming from the inside is just fodder for the media, titilation, ear candy.
The first rule of a disgruntled employee is to never blame the management if you want to keep your job.
As soon as its been realized that these people would choose to remain anonymous you can pretty much count on their complaints being not worth a crap.
If they truly believe what the say they would scream it from the top of a hill, wearing a name tag.
Its also a case of just a few instances being reported many many times by different networks and publications so it tends to take on a size that is not really representative of the true numbers.
It was not Palin who laid out the plans and the strategy for McCains campaign which was in place long before she arrived. All she did upon her arrival was energize the base, and then came the meltdown and that became all McCain wanted to focus on.
That, was the big mistake.

What we should do is change the rules of engagement in both wars to standards that are actually functional, just as Obama changed the rules of engagement in the campaign.
That way, if anyone accuses us of lying, we can just say we "changed our minds."
I guarantee that if the militarys hands were untied from the constraints of PC hypersensative bleeding heart rules every con on the hill would be tagged a liar.
This is not the first lie to come where we will see Obama saying he changed his mind.
Granted, many of the promises made were previous to the meltdown so naturally the money wont be there. The only problem is, I never heard him say this yet.
He sets himself up well by never divulging too much info or a solid commitment on too many issues. He also is beggining to set up buffers not one day after the election by saying that it may take a year or more than one term to achieve any of his goals.
Since 95% of Americans have been told a million times they will get a tax cut I wonder if that will be a lie when 60 % of them, or the ones at 41,000 a year, over time fall into the definition of rich and start getting taxed instead.
Really, his ceiling has gone from 250,000.00 to 200 to 150, and will he honor the 120 that Richardson said is a different standard in New Mexico ?
Can we just make these numbers up as we go along without any research or data to justify them and not be called liars ?
Call it what you want, its deception, the amount of it and the levels that its taken to is what matters.
This is what worries me about Obama the most. This attribute, if we can call it that, will effect every issue he makes a decision on.
Deception is managed and presented in many ways.
Ambiguity, vagueness, lack of commitment, self serving justification, faux naivety, omissions, and whatever else you have.
No doubt Obama has used these techniques for the last two years and we can count on seeing much more of it now.
An illusionist is affluent in the art of deception. What he presents to you causes your senses to decieve you, to lie to you.

Jersey will you admit then that George Bush DID NOT LIE to get us in Iraq, but misinterpreted the intelligence with regard to WMDs. The rest of his reasons for invading were accurate, whether or not you agree with them.

Whether or not Obama lied really doesn't matter. If he lied and people were stupid enough to believe him they deserve what they get.

Jersey.
He lied.
Being a thief/liar is not pragmatic.

Conservatism is not a virtue. Its a value system thats been around for centuries.

Listen to you, all triumphant and snotty as if you cornered the market on everything to be.
Take a humble pill and shut up.
The guy hasnt even served a day yet.
You think your lying disengenuous rump is going to preach anything to me ?
Nobody is as sick of anything as your ego imagines.
You're all just a bunch of spineless beggars who cant adhere to a decnt set of morals or principles.
You justify lying by saying "oh, he just changed his mind, you talk about petty and yet you worry about the choice of words people used and impose PC speech to the point of being the most petty pedantic breed the world has ever seen.
If anyone has petty psuedo issues is the left.
Global warming (what happened to that anyway?) Almost none of the initiatives on the ballots passed.
Feminism, gay rights, smoking bans, environmental issues that no one care about, green sex, the right to screw with no responability
Jeez, I could go on and on about all the petty little
non issues" you guys carry.
You guys own that, big time.

I'll tell you, you're coming really close to having no one to talk to half the time on this blog.
I have some dignity and getting really close to not being a part of what amounts to a little boy in a grown mans body.
You're arguements and insistant lying by omission of the obvious is a game fit for kindergarteners in the sand box.
As when you dont get your way, like throwing sand, you resort to calling people stupid or looney for their valid intelligent opinions
Theres words for all this that you would understand better, but Eric wouldnt tolerate it.
You play your little word games and acts of childish denial in my clubhouse and we dont put up with it as all grown men would know your full of it and just dont want that arrogant fragile ego of yours to get bruised.

Whats telling is that even in California, moonbat heaven, gay marriage got voted down for the second time.
Dont worry bub.
If that can happen in Ca.
Conservatism is alive and well.
Your point is weak

Micky,

I know conservatives think consistancy is an infallible virtue, but people like me think the it's an intellectually ambiguous. Consistency in the face of failure is stupidity. Obama was <em>smart</em> to turn down the matching funds. It was a tough choice, politically, but it was the right choice and I applaud him for being pragmatic. Pragmatism is a virtue. Consistency is just a state.

As for the brand of conservatism, I agree with you. The "conservative" brand is not the same as the republican brand. The GOP base is very disappointed with the GOP right now, and some of the early voting tallies show that a lot of them stayed home. On the other hand, among younger, more affluent, more educated voters - and - among blue collar white voters, Obama made significant gains over recent past Democratic candidates. And that is telling. The conservative brand - it's ideology - might be in some trouble. People are getting a litttle sick of your petty psuedo-issues.

Its only stupid to you because thats how you operate.
You give up, obfuscate and move on.
I care. I want him to follow thru on what I've been told.
Just how many times will he "change his mind " in the next four years and not be held accountable to his commitments ?
He's a BS artist, I should know.

They are “unnamed ” sources, and are exactly that.
We see the press using unnamed insider sources all the time to feed political stories . Not withstanding the MSMs need to “protect” their sources, I find it pretty contemptible. If an insider was trying to spread information about corruption, that is one thing, I would still come right out and use my name if it were a disclosure of corruption. But this is merely a matter of personalities, disgruntled ones at that, pointing the finger of blame and revenge. In this case, this is nothing more than a couple (2) of sore losers trying to get the message out that it was Palins fault.
Besides, by not putting the blame on McCain, squarley where it belongs were these "unamed"sources trying to protect their next campaign job?

You have to take into account that the real bashing, which is still there, coming from the left and not residual by any measurments at all, is still alive and well.
The bashing coming from inside the McCain operation is nothing, not even close to the mass group effort we see coming from the left still, today.
The onslaught that involved trashing her daughter, her husband, the investigators that went to Alaska, the slander, etc…, that sentiment still exists on the left, its alive and well, right now, you're the proof in your latest comments
Almost every liberal I debate never fails to throw
in some derigatory statement about Palin.

Nope, the socilaist whiners are just that.
You got your pres and yet the gays are rioting in Hollywood because they cant call themselves married, but yet have full civil unions.
Its time for this bunch to just sit down, shut up and quit whining already.
Gimme, gimme, gimme, poor me, my health care funds are cutting into my blackberry and my widescreen payments.
Gimme what ?
A 500.00 tax break comes out to 1.40 a day per year.
Where were all these cheap dates when my hormones were raging in the 80s ?

Like I said, the ratio of conservatives is very strong, "real" conservatives.
McCain just painted the wrong image of them by the way he represented us.
And given our choices, by only being able to vote for him, most people associated us with that brand of conservatism.
Trust me, plenty of us are upset with him for this but didnt want to say anything till after the election as it would of been kinda demoralizing.

Besides, by not putting the blame on McCain, squarley where it belongs were these “unamed”sources trying to protect their next campaign job?

You have to take into account that the real bashing, which is still there, coming from the left and not residual by any measurments at all, is still alive and well.
The bashing coming from inside the McCain operation is nothing, not even close to the mass group effort we see coming from the left still, today.
The onslaught that involved trashing her daughter, her husband, the investigators that went to Alaska, the slander, etc…, that sentiment still exists on the left, its alive and well, right now, you’re the proof in your latest comments

Like I said, the ratio of conservatives is very strong, “real” conservatives.
McCain just painted the wrong image of them by the way he represented us.
And given our choices, by only being able to vote for him, most people associated us with that brand of conservatism.
Trust me, plenty of us are upset with him for this but didnt want to say anything till after the election as it would of been kinda demoralizing.

Micky, I'm sorry, but I really just don't care about this public financing psuedo-issue you're hung upon. It's stupid.

As for Palin - hey man, don't look at me! I'm innocent! All the nastiness about Palin is coming from the late McCain camp. Ask them. I heard over at Red State they've decided to start a little internycene war, something called "Operation Leper," to ferret out the anti-Palin leakers and make them pariahs within the GOP base ranks.

And you're right about the popular vote, to the extent that there's still plenty of "conservatives," or at least people who think themselves that, out there. I think the Palin bashing coming from some in the GOP shows a genuine disdain for the social conservative base from the Wall Street conservative power structure (one called her a "Wasilla hillbilly"). The GOP has a serious rift here, and it's been there ever since the Republicans took the South - the economic laizzez faire vs the fundamentalist Christians. Somethings got to give. The Dixiecrats merged the socially conservative fundies with economic populism, but the GOP sold the fundies on a mix with economic elitism and I think mix is beginning to break. We shall see.

As for "socialist whiners," give it up already. You sound like a spoiled teenager that just read Atlas Shrugged. Nobody likes that kid.
