Although my experience with second chances cannot be compared to Kevin's, his story reminds me of the first time in my adult life that I got mine. It was much simpler than Kevin's. It was over with in seconds whereas Kevin's dragged on at length. I was in Vietnam when we heard the rockets coming in overhead...they had this eerie whistling sound. And woosh! they passed us by, two of 'em! Two duds! Both missles landed in the mud not one-hundred yards away. A scary moment in time... Kevin's moment dragged on...and on. Down the staircase. Down the streets and blacks away...never knowing for sure that he was safe. He must re-live those moments often. Great read…went back and read some of it twice!
