Like cows, chickens, turkeys, sheep, etc. Obviously most people would eat their own pet, and in this country people don't eat dogs or cats, but other animals are commonly eaten. I have known many people who grew up on farms and they understand the difference between animals they keep as pets and those that are meant to be eaten eventually.
