Boy, you, and (most) of those who comment on your blog have restored my faith that there are decent empathetic human beings who choose to make public commentary in the political arena. I just heard news item about Tony Snow resigning, and in searching for information re: his illness, I’be been absolutely sickened at the blogs and comments that were listed first on the Google search results page. Your words are so on target, unfortunately. We find it hard to understand the level of hatred that exists among the Muslim population in the Middle East? Their blind hatred for Jews? Their blind hatred for those who are fellow Muslims, but from different tribal roots (i.e. Sunni vs. Shiite, etc.)? Well, we have only to look right here at home in the media and certain members of the liberal left who just never cease to surprise me with the raw hatred of political rivals, those who dare to have a different opinion from their own. The large portion of the media which leans left only amplifies the inhumane words and attitudes……… We consider ourselves to be a democratic country founded by those who came to these shores to preserve their right to believe as they do, while maintaining tolerance for those of differing sentiment and beliefs? My stomache litterally turned reading those first few blogs. And, regretfully, the writers of such vituperative garbage actually think they are being clever and communicative! Just one more word: YUCK!

Because this blog is not a democracy. The owner can feel free to post whatever he wants, and to delete whatever he wants to.

Uh…no offense Paul…but what does alcoholism have to do with this…or even, lesbianism?

Mr. Edwards brought Cheney’s daughter’s sexual practices into a political debate. How is this appropriate at all? I think that is the point of the piece here….Edwards poor choices in attack topics…as well as Mrs. Edwards poor choices.

There are those of us that marvel that a party that is so prone to vitriolic attack of the most inappropriate sort is NOT the one that gets stereotypically cast in that role. Hatred is now the defining characteristic of the liberal democratic dialogue. Yet, they would have us believe that Bush, Cheney, Rove and all conservatives are evil and never miss a chance to spitefully describe them thus.

Yet…it is not the Bush administration or conservatives that are spewing hateful rhetoric.

So my question is; who is more evil? Those who spew it, or those upon which it is cast?

I watched it live. As soon as Edwards made that remark I got my ” GADUNG ” face on. It took me about a minute to close my mouth

Hi Eric…

It’s so far out of the liberal mindset to be decent to someone who disagrees with their politics. Disagree with their worldview, and you are the Enemy. When you demonize the enemy, it’s all in the name of A Better World.

I’m watching “Serenity” right now and it occurs to me that the story line matches what the liberals want for the world. They have to “…make people better…” That means making their thoughts, beliefs, and desires indistinguishable to their own.

They are not the first to use their tragedy -the Edwards as a sheild, while they attack.

There is a sentiment alive in American politics today, people want their cake and eat it too.

You know, I hadn’t read that he was leaving due to medical bills? What’s your source?

And , Micky? It didn’t sit right with me either re Ms. Edwards cancer announcement. I cannot imagine doing that in her shoes.I am a very private person to begin with. And I certainly don’t understand how it is that she is out there with all her criticism! But in all sincerity, I couldn’t see myself marrying her husband either. What I’m trying to say is, these people are like, from a different planet than I am, they are so far removed from anything I understand.

And re the hateful rhetoric that comes from the left; I’ll never forget some politician actually saying ‘If____________ (fill in the blank with any Bush administration person) was on fire, I wouldn’t even bother to piss on him to put it out.’ I’m sorry. There is NO possible reason or excuse for that vicious attitude.

Oh…one more thing. If indeed you are deleting liberal comments here, thanks. Nice to not have to deal with the negativity.
